Our staff at Cranford High School is composed of some of the most friendly and talented people to roam a building. At the school, there are many teachers that have been working here for over a decade. There are even a select handful that have been here for twenty plus years. However, what is also important are the new additional members that are reshaping and rejuvenating the teaching staff of this year and many to come—one of them including the bright and passionate business teacher, Ms. Prescott!
Ms. Prescott has officially become a new member of the staff at Cranford High School as of this year. She specializes in the Business department, and teaches a variety of classes including Intro to Business, Financial Literacy, Marketing, and more. Although Ms. Prescott is new to Cranford High School, she is not unfamiliar with the teaching industry. She has been teaching for the past eight years, from Houston, Texas, all the way to New York City. She has settled at Cranford High School due to the engaging classroom environment and the lively atmosphere of the school culture. She emphasizes that the staff has been extremely welcoming and she is feeling quite comfortable already!
Additionally, some hobbies Ms. Prescott indulges in her free time include traveling and cooking. These hobbies may be difficult to continue, since she states she is pregnant with her fourth child! But, this is an extremely exciting time, so make sure to congratulate her if you see her in the hallway.
I have had Ms. Prescott for almost three months now, and I will say her teaching methods are highly engaging and a majority of the class participates willingly during notes/group discussions. Cooperation is almost never a problem. We have recently done a “juice box project” that helps to convey important skills such as marketing towards a certain audience, being able to gauge your price range, and even how to advertise it efficiently and effectively. This is just one instance of how hands-on and interactive the class can become, making it enjoyable and evaluative at the same time.
I know Ms. Prescott will become an exceedingly popular teacher in the upcoming years at Cranford High School. If an underclassman asked me if I recommended any class for them to take, Marketing with Ms. Prescott would unquestionably be one of the few I would mention.
